Cohort Innovation Day (CID) is an international event aimed at fostering collaborations between researchers and economic players in the health sector. It provides a unique opportunity to showcase the potential of French cohorts to health companies, whether national or international, ranging from large industries to biotech firms.
For its 2025 edition, CID will take place on November 5th at Institut Imagine in Paris, organized by Ariis (Alliance for Research and Innovation in Health Industries), Medicen (the Health Competitiveness Cluster in Île-de-France), and Inserm.
The event will feature:
- Plenary sessions and round tables
- Presentations from participating cohorts
- Dedicated B2B meetings between companies and cohort representatives
CID offers cohort leaders the chance to connect with economic players, promote their cohorts, and explore new collaborations or strengthen existing ones.
Participating cohorts will be selected through this call for expressions of interest by a scientific committee composed of experts from both academic and private research sectors. Selected cohorts will be featured in the event catalog, participate in B2B meetings, and some will present during plenary sessions.
Cohort leaders wishing to participate are encouraged to submit their applications via the link below. Special attention will be given to cohorts focused on at least one of the following four key therapeutic areas:
- Immune and Inflammatory Diseases
- Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases
- Neurodegenerative Diseases
- Thromboembolic Diseases
However, outstanding cohorts from other fields may also be considered.

The 5th International R&D Dating will take place on October 24th in the “Carrousel du Louvre” right in the heart of Paris, on the theme of «Inflammation and inflammatory diseases». This topic, chosen by ARIIS and AVIESAN, is in agreement with the recommendation of the 5th meeting of the Strategic Council of Industries of Health (CSIS) held in January 2012.
Inflammation is part of a complex physiological process and plays a crucial role in the tissue response to harmful stimuli. However, acute or chronic inflammation can induce many diseases. Progress in the elucidation of the mechanisms that regulate inflammation and a reinforced organization of the patient treatment may allow a better medical care and the development of new anti-inflammatory drugs.
Inflammation is a worldwide priority for public health. In France, more than 80 research teams are working on inflammation and/or inflammatory diseases. These teams have made major progresses in the molecular and cellular bases of inflammation, as well as on clinical research, epidemiology, public health and translational research. Altogether, the results obtained result in a better understanding of inflammatory diseases.
The research developed in France is specifically focused on several aspects of inflammation and inflammatory diseases: elucidation of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation; research on the interactions between components of the immune system during the inflammatory response and its chronicity; development of new experimental models of inflammatory pathologies and technological improvement to follow the onset and the evolution of the inflammatory response; role of the tissue environment and development of new cellular or molecular products targeting the pathways implicated in the early and late stages of the inflammatory response and inflammatory diseases without efficient therapies. Finally, genomic studies leads to the identification of molecular signatures that can be transferred to clinical studies and will allow better diagnosis, prognosis and improvement of treatments of inflammatory diseases.

7èmes Rencontres Internationales de Recherche
Neurosciences et Psychiatrie
Paris, le 3 novembre 2016 : ARIIS et Aviesan se félicitent d’avoir réuni plus de 200 chercheurs académiques et industriels lors des 7èmes Rencontres Internationales de Recherche (RIR) qui se sont déroulées le 3 novembre 2016 aux Salons de l’Aveyron à Paris.
Les RIR organisées par ARIIS et Aviesan sont conçues comme un véritable laboratoire d’idées et d’innovations. Elles offrent, depuis 7 ans, une opportunité unique aux chercheurs et aux industriels de se rencontrer et d’échanger autour de projets innovants pour créer des synergies nouvelles. Aujourd’hui les partenariats publicprivé sont essentiels pour favoriser l'innovation en santé et un grand nombre d'entreprises s’est engagé à leur développement. Cette 7ème édition sur le thème des neurosciences et de la psychiatrie, a permis à 16 entreprises du secteur3 de rencontrer 47 chercheurs académiques au cours de plus de 105 rendez-vous en face à face.
Les RIR du 3 novembre 2016 ont permis d’échanger, grâce aux interventions des meilleurs experts français dans le domaine, sur les outils et les pistes d’innovation conjointe : avancées technologiques sur cohortes actives sur les troubles du cerveau, biomarqueurs permettant de stratifier finement chaque trouble, traitements émergents en médecine personnalisée, dispositifs de suivi des patients atteints de troubles dégénératifs, nouvelles techniques d’imagerie et de ciblage thérapeutique, dans le but de faciliter et de stimuler les interactions entre les laboratoires de recherche académique, les réseaux de cliniciens et biologistes et les partenaires industriels.
Les maladies neurologiques dégénératives (Alzheimer, Parkinson, démences, sclérose en plaques), les troubles liés à des dysfonctionnements neuraux innés ou acquis (épilepsie, accidents vasculaires cérébraux), les maladies psychiatriques (anxiété, dépression, addiction, schizophrénie, autisme, troubles obsessionnels compulsifs) partagent certaines signatures d’altération biologique formant autant de pistes prioritaires pour des thérapies innovantes.
Le gouvernement français a fait des troubles neurologiques et psychiatriques l’une des priorités nationales de recherche en santé, à travers deux programmations ambitieuses : Plan Maladies neurodégénératives 2014-2019 et Plan Autisme 2013-2017. Grâce au programme des investissements d’avenir, la recherche académique a développé un réseau d’excellence en lien à l’hôpital et à l’université, avec une expertise méthodologique et une inter-opérabilité sur tout le territoire.
Claude Bertrand, Président d’ARIIS, a rappelé que les RIR sont « un évènement phare d’ARIIS et […] que c’est le plus beau modèle de ce que l’on essaye de faire entre ARIIS et Aviesan et le rapprochement privé, public » et permettent « d’augmenter la visibilité de la science française au niveau international ». Il se réjouit de la montée en puissance des RIR et de « l’augmentation de partenariats public-privé suite à ce type d’évènement ».
Pour Yves Lévy, Président d’Aviesan, "de telles rencontres sont bien évidement plus que jamais nécessaires à l'aube des nouveaux défis qui s'ouvrent pour la recherche en science de la vie et de la santé. Le contexte actuel nous impose d'inventer de nouveaux modèles économiques et partenariaux aux interfaces public-privé. C'est bien l'objectif que nous poursuivons avec les RIR : Transformer nos progrès en une réalité partagée par tous."
